Until Next Time by Amy Lignor - Review

Welcome to Reading It All's stop on the Until Next Time tour brought to you by Tribute Books.

Title: Until Next Time
Author: Amy Lignor
Series & Sequence: The Angel Chronicles Book 1
Publisher: Tribute Books
Publication Date: February 1, 2012
Pages: 295

Synopsis: How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.

My Thoughts: I'm not sure how to write this review. I am in a little bit of awe from reading this book. I wonder how an author like Amy Lignor has escaped my notice. It took a day to read this book. Not because it was too short but because it was so amazing I hated putting it down. I found myself taking my kindle with me around the house as I did things, just in case I had a spare minute to continue reading.

The look into the lives of the angels was so amazing. I enjoyed how all the different angels acted. They were funny at times, and serious other times. I could tell that they all cared deeply for Matt and Emily and only wanted them to succeed without being hurt. The Heaven that Lignor told about sounds like a beautiful place.

Emily as an angel is strong and sure. Before she was sent to Earth as Liz she seemed like a very fun angel. Liz changed her, made her more serious and more troubled. While she is Liz she is still strong but plagued by her horrible past. I felt so sorry for her. Her struggles as Liz and then as Emily were hard. Her feelings for Matt and Jason were equally difficult.

Matt...well if this were a team picking book I would be team Matt. He just sounds amazing. I love how he forgives Emily for everything, and he loves her so deeply. He may seem emotional at times but I felt like he was truly Emily's rock. With him she felt stronger and knew she wasn't alone. As Daniel he was still amazing. I suppose that would make me Team Matt/Daniel.

Jason was a sweetheart. He's no Matt, but he cares so much for Liz and he just wants her love. I like his character a lot. Charles and Faith made me laugh. They were a perfect flirty mess. Both were funny and outspoken. They gave the book something extra.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I recommend this book. It was just perfectly written, in my opinion. There were adventures and romance. It makes me wish I had a six star rating. I will be anxiously waiting for the next book in The Angel Chronicles.
