The Bridge of Deaths by M.C.V. Egan - Review

Synopsis: On August 15th 1939, at the brink of World War II, an English plane crashed and sunk in Danish waters. Five deaths were reported: two Standard Oil of New Jersey employees, a German Corporate Lawyer, an English member of Parliament, and a crew member for the airline. Here is a conceivable version of the events. From Amazon.com

My Thoughts:
The Bridge of Deaths by M.C.V. Egan was amazing! It took me a very long time to read because there is just so much information to absorb. The amount of time that Egan had to have put into the research and writing for this book is unimaginable!

World War II is a war that I have always loved to learn about. This book, being set at the brink of the war, provided so much insight to what was happening then. I feel like I just sat through a highly enjoyable history lesson.

The look into psychic belief is very interesting. It is not something that I have ever encountered myself but I thought it was portrayed very well. Also the struggle between the belief in psychics and past lives and one's religious up-bringing was interesting to read.

I also enjoyed the stories of the people. Bill and Maggie were a very interesting couple struggling to learn about their past lives. Their relationship was fun to watch and I love how Egan ended their story.

Catelina's struggle through all her findings was wonderfully written. Although looking for the truth, I felt that sometimes she was also afraid to face it. Maybe it was a fear of this part of her life ending. Either way, I enjoyed reading about her.

The details in this book were great. Everything was sited well, and the copies of documentation that were provided were really interesting to see. I would love to go back over the book one day and look up some of the history that is talked about. The only problem I had, was that once in a while I got lost about who was talking. It didn't take away from the book. Sometimes I just had to go back and read again to be sure who was who.

P.S. (How perceptive of you, about my own fears...I am now working with a co-autor on a book that is far more about psychics and the paranormal than historical, and I am really enjoying it. When you leave something behind other wonderful things happen).
