My Thoughts: Uncle Bear's Mystery Valentine is a very cute children's book. The illustrations are bright and colorful. The recipe and the coloring book are a nice extra for children. My kids are always excited about a book that includes a recipe that was in the book. It makes them feel a little more like part of the story. The rhyming lines was nice, and something I always like in a children's book.

I enjoyed the characters, even if this is a very brief book. Veggie seems to be reasonable but fun. Carb is a bit hyper and all over the place. They are relate-able to children's different personalities. Uncle Bear is a nice bear, although truthfully his picture made me think he may be a bit grumpy. The little mystery in the story is sweet.

I think children will enjoy reading this book, coloring the pictures, and making the recipe. There is a lot to offer for them to become involved in the story. It would make a very cute Valentine's Day gift, but also a very cute book for any day of the week.
