How to Be Manly by Maureen O'Leary Wanket - Book Blast
When Fatty Matty Sullivan finds a self-help book by former football great Tad Manly at a yard sale, he secretly starts following the old pro’s advice to get in shape and get the girl. Summer goals: lose the milkshake weight, join the football team, and turn himself into the kind of guy super hot Cassie Bale will love. But between taking care of his grandfather, trying to pass remedial Algebra, and getting caught up in his friend Jester’s half-baked weed-dealing schemes, Matty’s summer isn’t quite the game-changer he’d planned. When on top of it all his dad moves back in with his own plans to get rich quick, Matty suddenly has much bigger things to worry about than football and whether or not Cassie’s going to call him back. And it turns out that there might be more to being manly than he thought. Maureen O’Leary Wanket’s debut is a sharp, comic novel about trying to do the right thing… even when you’re not sure what that is.

As she set off on her new course, her dream of writing took a backseat. But after many years of worldly pursuits, the urge to write returned. Do I Bother You At Night by Troy Aaron Ratliff - Book Blast
Do I Bother You At Night is Celebrating It's One Year Anniversary On October 4th! To thank all his loyal readers Troy is giving away a Caseable Kindle Folio from his new online store Tribal Style Design to one reader during the blast!
Book Blurb: They say nothing ever happens in Kansas. Sylvester Petersen used to think so too. That is, until a mysterious new neighbor moves in next door, seemingly out of nowhere. His handful of friends – people who tried to help him cope with the sudden death of his wife – think that it might be an opportunity for him to get reacquainted with the world outside his farmhouse and to build a new relationship with his neighbor. But that idea is soon snuffed out as strange events begin to happen around him. None of them wrong. Just strange: driving in the middle of the night, the sulfur-like odor coming off of him, the fact he doesn’t talk to anyone in the area. And what about that dog? Sylvester chooses the logical explanation and ignores the peculiar behavior. But when other oddities start to happen – the kind that affects Sylvester directly – he begins to worry. His reasoning dwindles and his growing fear points to his neighbor.
Where is that stray dog going?
After enough time, Sylvester starts to see and hear what the people of the area have been muttering about: Unexplainable blue light, corn crops moving on their own…the slaughtered cattle entirely too close to home. And that stray dog that keeps getting fatter and fatter…
At the peak of summer, and with the walls closing in, Sylvester experiences something that will take him to the brink and haunt you forever.
Bathed in loss, terror and human spirit, Do I Bother You at Night? will be a story you won’t forget and one that will give you a few restless evenings of your own. Love thy neighbor.
"Do I Bother You At Night? by Troy Aaron Ratliff not only can be put on a list of one of my favorite frightening stories, it climbs near the peak of the mountain. Things happen in this story that made even a reader as jaded and hard to impress as me jump in my seat." - Alex Kimmell, author of The Key To Everything
"As we know from his short fiction, Troy Aaron Ratliff revels - to our colorful benefit - in turning the ordinary on its head, often in terrifyingly plausible ways. In this, his first novel, he stretches into the realm of the supernatural, but of course, it continues to feel just as plausible because of the vivid characters at the heart of the story. Do I Bother You at Night? will stay with you for many nights." Mike Robinson, Author of The Prince of Earth and The Green-Eyed Monster

Author Interview with Troy
Troy is giving away any choice from the following link of Caseable Kindle Folio from his new online store Tribal Style Design to one reader during the blast.http://www.zazzle.com/tribalstyledesign/gifts?cg=Quiver of the Pure Heart by Burnita Bluitt - Book Blast
Granddaughter of a loving, but roguish businessman, Blis Dumas can’t escape a legacy of lies. The time is 1989. The place is San Francisco, where painful stories of gentrification, eviction and relocation still echo within its limits. Clinging desperately to the Victorian home she inherited, she is confronted by a stranger that brings her a life filled with revenge, corruption, and murder. In an unparalleled twist of fate, she discovers that her predicament may have roots buried much closer to home.
Blis’ world starts to crumble as she fights the Bureau to save the home she adores; fights the temptation of an incorrigible former lover; and fights the peril threatening the tender passion of a new and budding romance. QUIVER OF THE PURE HEART will appeal to readers that appreciate a social setting that illuminates the universal themes of desire, forgiveness, revenge, and letting go.
San Francisco is one of the loves of Blis’ life, and like any love relationship, it is where her emotions will be tested, where romance will live and die, and where people are not always as they seem. Burnita Bluitt offers a spirited and passionate story of love and corruption in the city by the bay.

About the Author:
Born in Mississippi, but raised in San Francisco. As a child I once lived in an Italianate Victorian similar to the one I’ve written about, only it was solid white. I used to like to sit in the bay window trying to hold the newspaper to look at the pictures. Through writing the book I’ve reignited my passion for San Francisco’s rich architecture. Don’t be surprised if you’re the owner of one of these beauties and you see me snapping a picture of your house. Here’s a little bit more about me than you ever wanted to know: I’m a Virgo, favorite color is yellow, love the ocean, adore cats but allergic, if I had been born a boy I’d be Byron Shay instead of Burnita Rene, biggest vice is See’s Candies, won writing scholarships to San Francisco Writer's Conference - 2013 and VONA - 2012, Ben & Jerry are my two favorite guys, degree in history, taught myself to knit, can’t sew, love exercising to audiobooks, delight in gardening and encouraging young things to grow, childhood book I enjoyed most was “Where the Wild Things Are,” can’t believe I don’t have a favorite author, and no kids, so can’t come up with any excuses to put off writing.Follow the author:

Julie Gerber isn’t thrilled to be pulled out of school her senior year to follow her parents halfway around the world to unearth a lost pyramid. However, when the cute British guy and the mysterious financier of their project both fight for her attention, things start to get interesting.
The pharaoh known as Djedefre was cursed for the murder of his eldest brother. The work of the archaeologists brings new secrets to light, ones that prove the fallen god-king wasn’t the villain history had painted him to be. Can they prove his innocence?
As the team digs deeper into the mystery, members of the party vanish or end up dead. Someone is determined to keep the truth hidden at all costs, even 4,500 years later.
My Thoughts: The Forgotten Pharaoh was a book full of surprising twists and turns that reminded me of an Indiana Jones like adventure. There was so much mystery as the story jumps from Djedefre's past and Julie's present. I loved the shifts and how it all fit together like the perfect puzzle by the end.
The characters, both present and past, are interesting and in depth. Julie has bratty moments, but they fit her perfectly and she definitely grows as a person in the book. Both the guys in her life are amazing and at times unexpected characters. I loved each shocking revelation that they discovered through the book.
The Forgotten Pharaoh is an amazing book. Once I started reading I was sucked into the mystery. I loved all the Egyptian history and architecture throughout the story. If you are a lover of adventure, mystery, or history, I'd suggest this book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat as they struggle to solve a mystery that could change everything.
