breathe. There was a loud yawn, followed by the cracking of joints. Then a
large hand reached in beside the closed shower curtain and turned on the tap. A
torrent of ice cold water poured down. It was like a billion itty-bitty knives
stabbing at my skin. All of the scratches and raw patches from earlier stung
like shit. I gritted my teeth, shoulders hiked up to around my ears as if that

maybe a little older. He had longish red-blond hair, dark blue eyes set in an
angular face, a lean but muscular torso covered in tattoos, and a rather large
cock. Not that I meant to check him out, it’s just kind of hard to ignore a
penis and scrotum when they’re dangling right in front of your face. I tilted
my head, trying to get some perspective. Every viewpoint, however, was equally
shocking. There was dick as far as the eye could see.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

my dripping-wet shoulder-length blond hair back behind my ears. As if that
would help. My winged eyeliner and false lashes were probably halfway down my

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 200%; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">No reply. His handsome face,
however, took on a distinctly pissy expression. Even his strawberry-blond hair
seemed a fiery hue. Fine, so we weren’t swapping names and getting cozy. Fair
enough. You wouldn’t believe how hard it was, keeping my eyes on his face. The
struggle was real. It might have been due to my not seeing one in so long, but
his dick seemed almost hypnotic. The thing had magical powers, I swear. It was
so big and mobile, subtly swaying every time he moved. My gaze kept darting
down despite my best efforts.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

really. “For any inconvenience I might have caused here in your bathroom.”</span><o:p></o:p></div>

with his hands on hips. Tattoos covered his arms to his wrists. Still, he had a
whole lot of sinew on show. Definitely not the kind of man you’d want to mess

model, or a biker, or a pirate, or something. Something a lot hot and more than
a little scary.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: .5in;">

Christ, the holes in my stockings were huge. On one side, my entire foot stuck
out. So screwed.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

done-in. Ready to sleep for a hundred years.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

look a wreck.”</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: .5in;">

and grabbed a towel, handing it to me. It was sort of threadbare, old. Dated
like the rest of the house. I hadn’t seen more than one room, but real estate
agents got a feel for these sort of things. Minimal upkeep for the past five or
so years would have been my guess. Perhaps it’d even been left empty. Bushes
out front hid the house from view, so I’d never gotten a good look at it
before.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

the long story of how the hell you ended up in my house. Agreed?”</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: .5in;">

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she

<span style="background-color: white;"><b style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">My Thoughts: </b><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">There are always these wonderful moments when I find a book that is so perfectly long and detailed and adventurous that I know I will love it every single time I read it. I can without a doubt say that Child of the Empire is one of those books. I could open it back up right now and read it all over again and enjoy it just as much as the first time. In fact, I know when I re-read it I will still be left loving it and wanting more. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;"><br /></span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">Child of the Empire takes place in a world sat upon five mountains. The mystery surrounding even that aspect of the story was amazing. I was constantly wondering what could be below the clouds, and how this empire came to be. Then there was the empire itself. Ansborn is a complex empire, with a lot of shady dealings and unanswered questions. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;"><br /></span></span></div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">The characters that Michaelbrent Collings created are amazing. They are a complex cast, each bringing something important to the story. Sword is a survivor and I loved her. She was clever and learned quickly. She was blunt and asked questions that many would probably avoid. Her personal journey from a Dog to Sword and everything she does as Sword is impressive. </span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">Other characters throughout the story pull everything along and add so much. I fell in love with so many of them. I was surprised by them, grieved for their troubles, and was excited by their triumphs. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px;">I loved this book so much. It is an epic fantasy that will intrigue readers. I wish they could make a movie that could do it justice. Now I am left, as it always seems when I find a new series to love, waiting for another book. I think it will be well worth the wait. </span></div>

accident totaled Sabrina Post’s convertible and reinvented her memories. She
can't recall dumping Cole Dawson ten years ago. What her new clairvoyant
visions tell Sabrina is he’s her husband. Any practical girl would question her
sanity. But if Sabrina wants to make this imaginary future a reality, she'll
have to regain Cole’s trust and eliminate her rival, the coffee shop waitress
who’s pegged Cole as husband #4. To prove she’s foreseen their destiny, Sabrina
stirs Cole’s interest by revealing specifics about him she couldn’t have
otherwise known. Unfortunately, the one detail he vividly remembers is the pain
when she left him and their "rinky-dink" town in her rearview mirror.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

down and gathered the papers. His mouth formed a hard line as he glanced at
Sabrina’s leave paperwork with the end date prominently circled. He replaced it
on the table under the keys.<o:p></o:p></div>

“No really, I
can do it. You stay, Cole. I’ll be right back.” Sabrina caught her reflection
in the mirror on the wall. The quest for a coat resulted in her hair looking as
if she’d stuck her finger into an electrical outlet. Her appearance matched her
desperation. She ran her hands over her head, but the static filled strands
resisted smoothing.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none; text-indent: .5in;">
“I need to
check on Dad anyway, and it’s on my way. I’ll take Josie.” Cole extended his
elbow, and Josie latched on like a lifeline, her fingers digging into the
leather of his jacket. She skittered across a few of the remaining candies,
crushing <i>Be Mine </i>and<i> Love Me </i>on the floor. “Thanks again for
dinner, Marge.”<o:p></o:p></div>

Despair leaked into Sabrina’s plea.<br />

closed behind him, so did the future with Cole that she’d imagined. Her
shoulders fell. She knelt to collect the candy hearts scattered on the floor.
Forget Me Not and Hug Me taunted her with their cheerful words. Lacking a
garbage bag, she shoved a handful of the candies into her jacket pocket.
Several hearts were trodden into tiny pieces, like her own.<o:p></o:p></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif;"><b>My Thoughts:</b> Forget Me Not is a novella in the Candy Hearts Series. This was a very sweet little story. Sabrina seemed to do a complete 180, surprising all the people in her life. I was rooting for her as she struggled to make the future she sees come true. I get the feeling that who she was before might have been so goal oriented that it made her a little unlikable. I liked her though and I would happily read more about her. Cole is a great leading male. I loved his friendliness and his willingness to help everyone who needed it. I also really enjoyed Sabrina's mom. </span></div>

A tidal wave of loss and grief swept over Henry Gallant, leaving him undecided about what to do next, or how to move forward.
Despite his sorrow, he goes on a dangerous mission to an invading aliens’ home world in the Gliese-581 star system. There he uses a neural interface to penetrate their communication network and steal a high ranking alien’s identity. Through this artifice he learns about their history and society, and discovers a way to hinder and possibly defeat them.
A side-effect of linking into the alien network—which was created for autistic savants—is that Gallant’s mind was stimulated and enhanced to the point where he begins to experience superintelligence abilities.
Upon returning from his mission, there is concern that Gallant might pose an even more serious threat than the aliens. While he struggles to fend off those who doubt his loyalty, he fights to win back Alaina.
<em>This is the fourth book of The Henry Gallant Saga, but it can be read as a standalone story.</em>

<div data-version="1.1">
Eva doesn’t claim to be a good guardian angel, but she tries. After she loses two charges, the Powers That Be begin to doubt her abilities. To redeem herself, Eva sets out to rescue Elsie, granddaughter of the former king of the Fae. A demon has kidnapped Elsie to complete an ancient ritual that will allow him to slip through the veil between Earth and Hell during the Sturgeon moon.</div>
Thomas, an angel liaison, finally lands his first mission. But when he’s paired with the angel responsible for his uncle’s death, he has to put aside their differences to get the job done.
With unlikely friends in tow, Eva and Thomas are in a race against time. Save Elsie, save the world—oh, and save Eva’s job.<br />
<br />
<b>My Thoughts: </b>Caelum is a fast paced book full of supernatural beings. I loved that it stretched from angels to werewolves, vampires to gargoyles. I think this is actually the first book with gargoyles I've read. I loved all the action throughout this story. It pulled the story along nicely. I only wish there was a bit more going on to lead up and explain everything.<br />
<br />
I loved the characters. Eva and Thomas were an interesting team and their struggle to get along is really great. I also enjoy how all the other characters interact with them. I liked Phenex a lot. I enjoyed the little glimpses into his back story and how things unfolded for him.<br />
<br />
This story was full of tension and excitement. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens for the characters in the next book.<br />

The relationship is great, rolls right along, and builds. Everything seems perfect … until a little heat is introduced. Then they melt, leaving only their hat, their scarf, something to remind their victims of what they’d lost.
Urban cowgirl Haley Monroe is told that the fabulously hot guy who just dumped her was a snowman. Her friend Maximilian convinces her that the only way she’ll ever stop being played by snowmen is to become one. It takes a lot of drinks to work up the nerve, but Haley gets her sexy on and goes on the prowl.
Famous horror author Larry White drops everything to attend a midnight séance at Maximilian’s apartment where he meets Haley. By the way she’s dressed—and just propositioned him—he assumes she’s a hooker. Larry can’t pass up the chance to get inside her head, especially since prostitution is the character’s occupation in his next book.
After spending the weekend together, unexpected sparks surprise both Haley and Larry. The trouble is Haley is dead-set on snowmanning the unkempt “starving artist” she met at the séance, and Larry doesn’t think he could have a real relationship with a woman with a past, so they go their separate ways.
The real fun begins when they meet again and find out neither one of them were who they thought they were. Can they reignite the flame? Or will they have a snowman’s chance in hell?

<b>My Thoughts: </b>The Trouble with Snowmen is a cute romance. Well actually it's a disaster turned romance. I found myself shaking my head at how much these two characters could mess up. It was funny and it made their story more interesting.<br />
<br />
Haley is a sweet girl. She's a people pleaser, which isn't a bad thing, but I felt like she let people walk on her at times. She grows some in the story, and figures out where she wants her life to go. I liked that part a lot. Her relationship with Larry is a little messy at times, but I was really rooting for them.<br />
<br />
The side characters in this book were a lot of fun. Maximilian was a great friend, if somewhat self-absorbed. I liked Haley's parents a lot, even though they were only in the book briefly. The slightly spooky aspect of the possible ghosts added something extra to the book. This is a fast and fun read that people will enjoy.<br />

Years later, she wants to believe in the fairy-tale endings her job promotes, but the clients she meets day after day seem to be more “Crazily Ever After” than “Happily Ever After.”
Meanwhile, her own attempts at romance play out as bizarre comedies rather than love stories, and she’s starting to think Prince Charming either fell off his horse or got eaten by a dragon. When unresolved issues from Tyler’s past complicate things even further, she discovers she may yet have some things to figure out before she can find her own happy ending.
This delightful first book in the Tales Behind the Veils series chronicles Tyler’s wacky misadventures, both personal and professional. <b>My thoughts: </b>I have to say I loved this book. It was funny and well written. My kids love all the diary books available to them. This is the first one I've read for an adult. It was really entertaining. Tyler's journey of self discovery is well worth the read.<br />
<br />
Tyler (love the name!) is a southern girl, a sweetheart, and full of hilarious thoughts. The way she recounts the couples in the book had me grinning. It was like every bride show on television but in book form, so it was better. Add in all her own moments of nervous mishaps and dating disasters and I wasn't ready for the story to end. I kept trying to go on to the next page before I realized it was the end of the story. I'll be looking forward to more of the Tales Behind the Veils series. I can't imagine what trouble Tyler will find herself in next.<br />

A man without faith shares his views as the end of life approaches.The views are reflections on religion, morality and death.The deeply religious will find little of interest here and may find some of the material incomprehensible. Some moderates who have noticed twinges of doubt or discomfort in certain beliefs may find some explanations for those feelings.
The faithless will probably understand it all. It is the author's hope that for them, it will be a pleasant read.

<strong>Amazon Review</strong> - <em>This book has websites and gives help as to how to build your audience. For someone like me it has to be dumbed down enough for me to understand and I had no problem following her how to’s. Other how to books lose me, they offer so much information that after a while it all seems Chinese to me. This book was point on and she tells it to you straight, you have to put yourself out there if you want to get something out of it.</em></div>

<strong>Amazon Review</strong> - <em>It gives real life tips and advice on how you can get started including websites you can visit. This is not a get rich quick scheme, but honest to goodness ways you can start a business from the comfort of your own home. The author does not sugar coat anything by saying it's easy and will just fall into your lap. She lets you know you have to work for it, but shows that it can be achieved. The book includes her testimony as well as that of several others who have been successfully doing this for years. This book is the real deal.</em></div>

Mandie Stevens has always been accused of living in her own world so she decided to put it to paper. When she isn’t writing you can catch her lounging on the beach reading. Mandie has penned both non-fiction and urban fantasy. She has ridiculously little feet and would be happy eating seafood every day.</div>

After a painful affair broke her heart and derailed her burgeoning career, taking over management for the just-opened bed-and-breakfast was the safe choice. In this sleepy town, Abby figured she could bury her memories and forget the pain.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6000003814697px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
When the chance to have her own hotel falls into her lap, though, she can’t resist the temptation. Making the old Riverside Inn into the showplace she’s always dreamed of running offers the second chance she never expected.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6000003814697px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Abby didn’t expect another kind of second chance to land on her doorstep at the same time. Ryland Kent wants to help her bring the Riverside back to life, and his passion for restoration is irresistible. But as much as she wants to ignore it, she can’t help seeing another spark in his eyes . . . one that offers to reignite her own flame.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6000003814697px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Sometimes the path to a happily-ever-after is anything but smooth.<br />
<br />
<b>My Thoughts: </b>Tawdra Kandle has to be one of my absolute favorite romance authors. She never fails to deliver a story that has plenty of feeling and heat. The Path was no exception. I love the world she has created with her Crystal Cove novels and all the characters.<br />
<br />
Abby is a strong female, who is determined to prove that her past won't be repeated. Ryland is a stubborn guy who wants things his way and is ready to fight to get it. Abby and Ryland are an adorable couple. Their bickering entertained me. As the bickering grew into a relationship I loved them even more.<br />
<br />
The Riverside Inn plays a huge role in this book. One I really enjoyed. I loved the picture that Tawdra Kandle painted of Riverside. She breathed life into the old Inn and made it an amazing piece of the story. <span style="line-height: 25.6px;">Of course some of my old favorite characters made appearances in The Path, too. </span><br />
<span style="line-height: 25.6px;"><br /></span>
<span style="line-height: 25.6px;">The Path is a beautiful love story. It could be read as a standalone, but trust me you'll want to get the whole Crystal Cove experience. Grab all the Crystal Cove books, and don't miss out on The One Trilogy either, since some of the characters cross over. I can't wait to read what Tawdra comes out with next!</span><br />

When she learns that her ex-husband is asking for her from his hospital bed, Meg must confront the painful memories of her past.</div>

Family is everything for Jeremy Rawley. Most important is the one he and Meg created together. But their beginning was tangled in memories he wishes his wife could forget for good. A call from her past brings them back to a place he thought they’d never have to be again.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6000003814697px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Forgiveness may be the key, but the first step is finding the locked heart that needs it.<br />
<br />
<b>My Thoughts: </b>All For Family is the third book in the Rawley Family series. It's the first book in the series I read, and the beginning was a little confusing to me. I don't usually come into a series out of order, so I'll be going back to read the first two books in the near future. That being said, it was a really great book.<br />
<br />
My absolute favorite part was that the characters weren't "perfect". Meg especially, was perfectly ordinary. A divorced, slightly older, and curvy woman who was worried about her flaws. She is a character that others can connect with. I also loved, that although her life had been handing her some serious lemons, Meg was all about trying to make lemonade. She didn't whine or cry, but smiled and carried on. She was awesome. Jeremy is from a well to do family in a foreign country. He's a bit stiff and maybe a little snobby, but he's a good guy. <span style="line-height: 25.6px;">Meg's love story with Jeremy was sweet. I loved the letters between them. They helped each other out, each bringing the other out of their shell a little. </span><br />
<span style="line-height: 25.6px;"><br /></span>
<span style="line-height: 25.6px;">I enjoyed All For Family. The struggles and the fight to overcome them pulled the story along. I enjoyed the little hops in time throughout the book. I'm looking forward to getting the first two books to read and seeing what else Olivia Hardin comes out with. </span><br />

On that same day the police uncover a dead coed two blocks from Jenna’s house. The e-murderer’s description creepily echos the death described in the newspapers.
When Jenna receives other emails, she takes what she knows to the police and thus begins her journey in the path of the e-murderer. Her curious nature impels her from e-messages to dead coeds to a ring of prostitutes. With the help of her quirky friends, Jenna learns that she’s more than a conduit for the killer. She’s his target. New secrets unfold, and finally her love life takes a tumble when the true killer emerges.
THE E-MURDERER is a race to find a psychotic killer before he kills again.
This new mystery series with a young female sleuth promises to keep you glued to your seat until the last page.

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Joan has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember. She reads all kinds of books, including women’s fiction, mysteries, biography, and nonfiction. Mystery/suspense with a psychological twist is exactly the kind of book Joan loves to read.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">"I write about characters who remind me of myself at times and my sister at times, but never fully so. My stories are told from a woman's point of view with a destiny. Characters drive my writing and my reading."</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Having grown up in the South with a mother from Westchester County New York, Joan has a unique take on blending the Southern traditions with the eye of a Northerner. She spent most of her childhood in North Carolina and now resides in Athens, Georgia.</span>

SAPPHIRE BEAUTIFUL, a new full-length, stand-alone novel in Ren Monterrey’s THE CLUB series.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I never imagined that I’d be starting my fifth year as a faculty member in the Medieval Studies department as a thirty-two-year-old widow. I’m sure to be the butt of every joke around campus as the collateral damage of a sex scandal that made national headlines. And my husband left me completely broke after he killed himself.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I don’t want to lose my house and all the money I invested in it so I make an arrangement through The Club. I’ll get what I need…money to get out of the financial ruins my dead husband left me in. And Dante McNally will get what he wants…access to my body…whenever and however he wants it…</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
There’s only one catch. Dante is one of our new graduate students and the recipient of a prestigious research fellowship funded by his billionaire father. And this is the year I’m supposed to be applying for tenure.</div>

<b>My Thoughts: </b>Sapphire Beautiful is the first book I've read in Ren Monterrey's The Club series. I enjoyed it a lot. The characters were interesting and the plot was good. I felt like the end rushed a little, but I still liked it. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Mary is an awesome leading female character. I think she is strong to deal with everything that is thrown at her. Her struggles, especially internally, really pull the story along. Dante made an intriguing leading male. His commanding ways mixed with his willingness to keep Mary happy is wonderful. I thought Lucy was fun and Dante's family was a mess. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Quattrocento, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25.6px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
I like that it isn't all sunshine and roses. Ren Monterrey did a great job showing the awkwardness at the beginning and building the relationship through the book. I'm looking forward to checking out other books in this series. </div>

Just when she’s given a little breathing room, her world comes crashing down.
In Beck's eyes, no measure is too extreme to protect Mae and their unborn children. After realizing the cost of his zeal is Mae's happiness, he plans a getaway that will put into motion age-old plans set in place by the gods themselves.
Overshadowed by a demon assassin, Mae becomes the very thing that Beck has tried to safeguard her from. With help from Aphrodite, Beck must reset the device that bonded him to Mae, and give the demon a new target before Mae destroys herself and the world around her.
Can their love survive when all hell breaks loose?

After a painful affair broke her heart and derailed her burgeoning career, taking over management for the just-opened bed-and-breakfast was the safe choice. In this sleepy town, Abby figured she could bury her memories and forget the pain.</div>

When the chance to have her own hotel falls into her lap, though, she can’t resist the temptation. Making the old Riverside Inn into the showplace she’s always dreamed of running offers the second chance she never expected.</div>

<em>Tawdra Kandle writes romance, in just about all its forms. She loves unlikely pairings, strong women, sexy guys, hot love scenes and just enough conflict to make it interesting. Her books include YA paranormal romance, NA paranormal and contemporary romance, and adult contemporary and paramystery romance. She lives in central Florida with a husband, kids, sweet pup and too many cats. And yeah, she rocks purple hair.</em>

Emmy Carter is a hard-working, no-nonsense woman. She's focused only on supporting her family and growing her pie business. Working weekend nights at The Riptide is just something she does to help pay the bills. When it comes to men--or love--she's not interested. Since the day her surfer-boy husband walked out the door to find bigger waves, Emmy's been determined never to give another man power over her heart.
Cooper Davis agrees. He's been married--and divorced--twice, and he's got no desire to make it a trifecta. He has his carpentry business, which is his passion, and his teen-aged daughter to keep him busy. The posse, his best friends since boyhood, tease him about finding the right woman. But Cooper knows she doesn't exist.
When Emmy and Cooper share a casual hook-up late one night, isn't a big deal. It's just a one-time thing. Until it isn't. And although neither of them will admit to themselves or each other that they want more, each encounter only brings them closer to the happily-ever-after they never planned to have.
Like it or not. . .it's all part of The Plan.

Being a widow at the age of forty-four was never in Jude Hawthorne’s plans. After her husband’s death, she’s left with her family’s beach restaurant and two nearly-grown children. The last thing she’s looking for is another chance at love.</div>
However, if her husband’s best friends, the Posse, have anything to say about it, love is just what she’s going to get. The Posse is determined to take care of Jude, and when they decide the best way to do that is for one of them to sweep her off her feet, three begin to vie for her affections. But only one can reach her heart.
In a story of friendship, loss and second chances, Jude will learn her life is far from being over.

<b><br /></b>
<b>My Thoughts:</b> I enjoyed reading Rhuna: Crossroads. While this book could be read on its own, I suggest reading Rhuna, Keeper of Wisdom first. It introduced Rhuna and how she begins her Atlan life. In Crossroads her journey continues as she travels with her daughter on an assignment.<br />

There is a lot of excitement and secret in Rhuna: Crossroads. It is full of twists, many unexpected. There are many new characters that were interesting. The growth of Rhuna's daughter in the story is a nicely done. I struggled between worrying about Rhuna and loving her growth as a person. She still has far to go, and I hope the next book brings along even more change for her.<br />
<br />
This is a good book, and I will be interested in seeing what happens next for Rhuna and all the other characters new and old.<br />

Unfortunately, they’re losing—badly.
As the only Natural remaining in the genetically engineered officer corps of the United Planet’s fleet, Henry Gallant has unique mental abilities that have proven essential to the defense against the Titan invaders. Nevertheless his fellow officers lack faith in him, and worse, he has angered prominent men by speaking truth to power.
Despite this, Admiral Collingsworth has given him command of the Warrior, the most advanced stealth warship in the UP arsenal and ordered him to the alien’s main base to spy, intrigue, and disrupt their war capacity.
Gallant’s mission leads to risky battles and painful choices, but no choice is more personal, or intimate, than the choice to face your own death. And for Henry Gallant—a flawed young man, in a hopeless situation, against overwhelming odds—a dreadful decision looms before him.
He has only one saving grace—he is unafraid.

Anger isn’t an emotion anymore, it’s more of a survival mode I can’t afford to let go.</div>
<div>
<div>
My dad predicted World War III would happen in his life, but he died two years before… with my brother…</div>
<div>
…before Mom and I walked in search of refuge from the bombing.</div>
<div>
Strengthened by her faith, Mom never feels alone. But me? I don’t know what to believe or where to turn. Someone once said keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but I disagree. Friends scare me the most. They know me and my mom. Nothing about them is safe.</div>
<div>
The ones in charge… Control everything…</div>
<div>
Crud, I’ve started crying because I’m scared I won’t survive World War III. But a bigger part of me is scared I will.</div>
<div>
My mom is bleeding in my arms and she’s making me promise to follow her three rules.</div>
<div>
Pray.
Don’t trust anyone.
Stay alive.</div>
<div>
How long do I need to break all three?</div>

I’m pregnant and I couldn’t be more excited. But the community Bodey, his dad, and I live in has rules. Rules that make Mom’s rules seem like safety nets.</div>
<div>
Only 200 people are allowed at a time. My baby will make it 201.</div>
<div>
The leader is making me choose someone from our house to die so there will be room for my child. Either I make the decision or they take… my…</div>
<div>
Even in the craziness that the world has become, I refuse to believe only 200 can live in it at once.</div>
<div>
The “community” is safe-ish, comfortable. We have food, warmth, and there isn’t immediate danger of being robbed while we sleep.</div>
<div>
Doesn’t it make sense we’d have to exchange something for all that?</div>
<div>
I’ve survived this long. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe I should die so my family can live.
Or maybe I can get through the lines and find a people worth sacrificing for.</div>

Running for my life and six months pregnant, I’m terrified but confident in my decisions.With my love and family behind me, captured by the same man who chases me, I have only a small window to find help. The baby needs to come out eventually.Nobody said the end of the world would define people so much. Everywhere I turn I have to prove my worth.Mom was gone before I learned my value lay in my eyes. Not others.
But how would that save Bodey? How could my worth change how the world me spins?If I can’t figure it out, everyone I love will die, trapped in a place where even following the rules won’t protect us.

<em>Bonnie R. Paulson mixes her science and medical background with reality and possibilities to make even myths seem likely and give every romance the genetic strength to survive. Bonnie has discovered a dark and twisty turn in her writing that she hopes you enjoy as much as she has enjoyed uncovering it. Dirt biking with her family in the Northwest keeps her sane.</em>

<strong><em>Mason Wallace left his hometown to live his dream: he had the perfect career, a gorgeous wife and a beautiful baby girl. He was on top of the world, until it all shattered with the sudden death of his wife. Now he’s back in Georgia, running his bar and trying to take care of his family. And he needs all the help he can get.</em></strong>
<strong><em>Rilla Grant’s never been farther than twenty miles from her family’s farm. Her overprotective father wants her to marry their church’s youth pastor and settle down into the life he’s chosen for her, but she’s not sure that’s what she wants anymore. Rilla’s chafing to make her own choices, and that includes starting her own PR business and maybe even moving off the farm, no matter how much her dad hates it.</em></strong>
<strong><em>When Mason asks Rilla to work on some promotion for his bar, she’s both excited and terrified. Excited, because it’s just the opportunity she’s wanted, and terrified because Mason, with his intriguing hazel eyes and drool-worthy body, is the kind of guy who makes her knees weak and her heart pound. He’s the only one who’s ever tempted Rilla to defy her family, and when she does just that by moving in to help take care of his daughter, they’re both forced to make a decision that’ll change their lives forever.</em></strong>

<em>The One Trilogy Book 2</em></h3>
<em><strong>Ali and Flynn were high school sweethearts. Eager to see the world and leave behind their small Georgia hometown, they’d planned for an exciting new life together after they finished school.</strong></em>
<em><strong>But on graduation day, only one of them hit the road.</strong></em>
<em><strong>Eight years down that road, an unexpected loss brings Flynn home again. He’s a big-shot photo journalist, and he’s made most of his plans reality. But he’s done it alone. Is it too late for his biggest dream to come true?</strong></em>
<em><strong>Ali’s spent those years working hard, raising a daughter and helping her brother keep their family farm alive. Thinking about Flynn and what might have been is a pain she tries to avoid. . .even when it’s impossible to forget.</strong></em>
<em><strong>Flynn’s return brings back feelings Ali thought were long dead and hopes she’d abandoned. Finding their way back to each other will change them forever, opening old wounds and stirring up memories.</strong></em>
<em><strong>Can first love be the one to last forever?</strong></em><br />

<em>"Tawdra Kandle knows how to weave a story that is both steamy and heartfelt. I cannot even tell you how many times I was brought to tears while I read The First One. I've been waiting for Ali's story ever since I finished reading The Last One, and I was not disappointed." Melissa at Reading It All</em>
<em>"This was a beautifully executed romance that managed to change around all my preconceived notions about Flynn and Ali from the previous book. I started the book determined to hate Flynn all the way through for abandoning his family, but somewhere along the line I began to hope for happiness between these two. Amazing!" Carrie Williams, Goodread reviewer</em>
