Her Honor's Bodyguard by Johnny Ray - Book Blast

Her Honor's Bodyguard

by Johnny Ray   Do first loves ever really die? While reunions can take many forms, there is always one question that has to be answered sooner or later—what happened? Vance had always been extremely proud of Noella, and just because his life had been ruined, he saw no reason why she had to have the same faith. When his dad died, leaving him and his mother penniless, he dropped out of law school and ended his relationship with Noella, but in doing so, he stopped a scandal that could have ruined her family. These secrets he would never let her know. Ironically, years later, he would have never guessed she would be instrumental in ruining his career with the Tampa police force. After Noella finished law school and started pursuing her goal of working up the ranks in judgeships, she never considered inviting another guy into her life. As such, when someone attempts to threaten her into vacating her seat on the bench, and by force if necessary, she knows of no one else she really trust as much as Vance, who now has a successful bodyguard and private detective business. She knows that Vance might hate her for her part in having him dismissed from the police force, but what he will never know is that she actually saved him from going to prison. Additionally, she now thinks he was framed, and perhaps by the same people who are threatening her. She had to talk him into taking her on as a client . . . but would he agree to her request? As the number of attacks on her life increases, Vance soon has no choice but to offer her his protection, and in spite of everything, when they see each other again their old attraction for each other returns. She wants the truth. He wants the truth. However, making the ultimate sacrifice is not always easy to understand, whether given or received. Ultimately . . . could they now trust each other with these secrets? While their lives depend on discovering the truth to their past, these truths are locked in deep secrets that could also destroy them.

Into the End by Bonnie R. Paulson - Review

Into the End - Book #1 Rachel Parker in Into the End can IDENTIFY fear, she can DEFINE it, but she doesn't feel it. Not anymore. Not since the tests. Her inability to feel fear may be the reason why the rest of America is screaming in terror. America’s end is near. No one knows why, but the great country is under attack. After being weakened by countless natural disasters, America opens its airspace for aid. But instead, what is left of the devastated west coast finds itself nearly obliterated from above. The key may belong to tests designed by a Pacific Northwest psychologist, Rachel Parker. Rachel loses the love of her life in a house fire as they escape with their children to the nearby Rocky Mountains following the first round of air raids. In refuge, she faces her husband’s best friend, Joshua, but doesn’t want to face his ill-harbored feelings or her own inability to face fear. Her sister, Brenda, escapes the fallen city, and, mistaken for Rachel, is captured. Terrified and alone, Brenda is protected by the enigmatic Daniel even while he helps keep her captive. Through torture and mind games, Brenda discovers information about her sister’s work that could spin the free world into a tumultuous frenzy where the unknown is safer than reality.

Purchase on Amazon / Barnes and Noble

My Thoughts: Into the End covers a short time, but packs in so much action. The attacks and disasters that were ravaging America were scarily believable. Bonnie R. Paulson did such an amazing job bringing a failing America to life. I could easily imagine it all happening.

The characters had so much depth. Brenda and Rachel were interesting and so much the same. In the book they compared themselves to each other all the time. I thought they were both insanely brave to handle so much tragedy and danger. Tom was a brave character. I was always on the edge of my seat during his parts. He seemed to always be in trouble. The book switched between characters with ease. I never wondered who I was reading about.

I have read many different dystopian and end of the world books (they are a favorite of mine). Into the End will have no problem holding a best-selling spot among them. There is mystery for readers, as we try to find out who is attacking America, and which Americans can be trusted. The psychological aspects were scary to think about.

This is a book that I am thankful I didn’t start reading until they were all out. The cliff hangers would have driven me crazy. This book leaves so much hanging in the wind, and that could be my only complaint. Could be, but isn’t. Even with so much left to discover, I loved this book so much. I can’t wait to get the other two books read.

I would recommend this book to any lovers of dystopian and end of times books. I think this series will go a very long way. It’s fast paced, full of drama and suspense, and it pulls a reader in.

Through The Flames - Book #2 Allies = All Lies America is burning. The unknown blinds the citizens from fighting. Dr. Rachel Parker’s worst psychological designs are loosed on America by an unknown enemy. She leaves the safety of the mountains for the destruction of town to face her co-designer, Daniel, whose role is blurred by the smoke of deception. Captured by militia, Rachel has to find the answers she’s seeking. She’s not prepared to look within her own damaged mind for the solutions. Rachel’s frame of sanity and emotional stability lay on the line parallel to the country’s circumstances. Brenda Krous, Rachel’s sister, possesses information that could change the face of the war. Sacrifices to get there become more and more personal until the “Brenda” she was and the “Brenda” she is becoming hit a crossroads. If she finds the compassion to help her sister, her patriotism to the nation might be sacrificed.

Purchase on Amazon / Barnes and Noble

Out of the Ashes - Book #3 (Final Book) America can rise, but the cost is high. Traumatized by previous exposure to her own tests, Dr. Rachel Parker has to complete the methodical steps she swore would never see the light of day… on herself. Her sister, Brenda Krous, may be the only one capable of pulling her through intact. If they can accomplish the feat and find resolution together, the answers they discover can help the rest of America rise up and reclaim itself from the protection of destruction. But a nation’s fall has a time frame and pride can get in the way. Rachel and Brenda must find what they need in each other to conquer the fear in others.

Legends of Amun Ra The Emerald Tablet by Joshua Silverman - Review

The Emerald TabletGenre: Sci-Fi, Fantasy
Leoros doesn't have many friends. The son of a scientist and archeologist, he is constantly on the move. But when his parents make a startling discovery in Egypt, Leoros' world is turned upside down. Do you wish you could have the power of a god? Would you use it for good…or for evil? When an archaeologist discovers the mythic Emerald Tablet buried beneath Egypt’s desert, her son decodes the ancient text leading him to a distant world. On that world, a slave girl begins a journey towards a destiny she cannot imagine. But when an ancient foe rises from the ashes, they will be brought together by forces neither understands. Leoros, who dreams of being like the heroes in the comic books, must fight to unlock the secrets of the universe to save a people he never knew existed. Atlantia, whose bloody visions wake her in the night, senses the darkness coming. Together they will face an enemy with the power of dark energy, lose a mentor to the assassin’s blade, and be betrayed by someone they trust. Their fight for the future is just beginning, and before it is over, a final sacrifice must be made. When the darkness comes, will they stand and fight or will they join it? There is darkness in everyone. Purchase the book: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

My Thoughts: The Emerald Tablet is full of excitement. The plot is very fast. Sometimes I was a little lost about where the time had gone in the story, but it was fast paced. I really wanted to be pulled into the book, because there are so many great things going on. For some reason it just never happened. I did enjoy the Greek and Egyptian mythology though, as well as the characters’ abilities to manipulate energy.

There are some very interesting characters. They kept me invested in this book. I wanted to know what was going to happen with each of them. This book is written so that you can see many different characters’ point of views. Every once in a while it would skip back and forth during one section so I wasn’t always sure who’s point of view it was. I loved Dio and Theron’s characters the most. I wish that we had seen much more of Theron. Kem was almost too easily manipulated in the story. Leoros and Atlantia were brave kids, and I will be interested to see what happens with them next. I found issues with how much re-telling was done with the characters. It got so repetitive at times that the book lost my attention.

I found The Emerald Tablet to be a good sci-fi/fantasy. It is the first book that I have read that did so much. The mixing of Greek and Egyptian mythology and the portals to travel to other worlds were very interesting. The futuristic world was really great, too. I both loved and hated the ending. It definitely made me want to find out what would happen in the next book, but I was troubled by it. Since I don’t do spoilers, I won’t say why.

I think that The Emerald Tablet shows a lot of promise. There are some issues that bothered me, but there is enough good about the book for me to want to know what will happen next in the series.

About the Author

Olivia Hardin realized early on how strange she was to have complete movie-like character dreams as a child. Eventually she began putting those vivid dreams to paper and was rarely without her spiral notebooks full of those mental ramblings. Her forgotten vision of becoming an author was realized when she connected with a group of amazingly talented and fabulous writers who gave her lots of direction and encouragement. With a little extra push from family and friends, she hunkered down to get lost in the words. She’s also an insatiable crafter who only completes about 1 out of 5 projects, a jogger who hates to run, and is sometimes accused of being artistic, though she’s generally too much of a perfectionist to appreciate her own work. A native Texas girl, Olivia lives in the beautiful Lone Star state with her husband and their puppy Bonnie.

Indigo Incite by Jacinda Buckmann - Review

Indigo InciteThere are no secrets
Sixteen-year-old Tyler believed that his extra-sensory powers were a secret, but when his twin brother, Toby, is kidnapped by a covert government agency, he realizes that he has no secrets, and he has nowhere to hide.
He’s not alone
Now, in order to save himself and rescue his brother, Tyler must call upon the help of four strangers. Unknown to each other, Eddie, Liliana, Grace, and Sarah share a common bond. They are Indigo Children. With extra-sensory powers of their own, they must unite with Tyler in order to maintain their freedom.
Unexpected romance
They’re on the run. They’re on a mission. Romance is a distraction that Tyler can’t afford. But sometimes, the heart has a mind of its own.
Time is running out
Will they find Toby before the agency finds them first? Find out in Indigo Incite, Book One of the Indigo Trilogy.

My Thoughts: Indigo Incite was a very exciting book. Since the book was set mostly around a rescue mission, it was full of suspense. With each new secret that was revealed I went deeper into the Indigo world. The little glimpses into what we may see in future books, like the Star Children, really interested me. I loved how the Star Children were explained. I also loved the dark, twisted agency that searches out the Indigo Children.

I enjoyed the characters in the book. I found them to be very believable. The typical thoughts of teenagers were great. Even amidst danger, there were attractions. I loved watching the relationships grow between them all. My favorite thing about the characters was their powers. Many of them coincided, but each had something extra unique. I also enjoyed getting to read the book from so many points of view. I love that look into each character’s mind. I liked the twins, but I really want to see what will happen with Sarah and Ian the most. They ended up being my favorite characters in the book.

I have read books similar to this (first that comes to mind is the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson at certain times), but Jacinda Buchmann put her own spin on things. I loved where Buchmann took this first book. I don't want to give any part of the book away, but there were several instances where I was not expecting what happened. I cannot wait to see what the Indigo children will do next.

I really loved how Buchmann ended the book. While she gave closure she also left that opening for so much more in later books. I will be very excited for the next book to come out. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sci-fi and fantasy.

Chapter 1 - This is Erotica.
Like seriously, it all began out of REVENGE. And the problem was all because the door wasn’t shut. As in, it was pushed closed but the lock wasn’t secured. It wasn’t safe. I could’ve and should’ve latched it but I didn’t, and it wasn’t that I was too caught up here either, just wasn’t sure I was really going to go through with this or not. It’s summer, June 11, and lord did I need this three months break from UWI. I was so charged up about it until I threw myself into this situation I’m in right now. I planned it, but sitting here face to face with it right now, I‘m not sure how I should feel inside or what I was feeling. My age? Nineteen. Just turned nineteen in April, and believe it or not, today is probably the biggest day I’ll ever have in my life already. And for sure the most important day in my brother, Vance’s, life. I nervously looked towards the lock on the plain white door. Don’t judge me, - BUT - today, this was happening in the bathroom.

“Hey, take our picture. Just like we are now.” I instructed him, while sitting in his lap. My arms hugged around his neck, both of us were dressed in formal clothes and sitting in the bathroom. My breasts were outside the cups of my strapless satin dress, and my nipples still wet from just slipping out his mouth.

“Of the two of us?” he asked tilting his head, shocked and puzzled, looking straight into my eyes. His pants zipper half-way open. It made no sense to him, but to me I knew exactly why I wanted him to do it.

I barely mouthed, “Yeah sweets.” Raised my bosom up, and brushed my nipples against his face, my nipple rubbed above his opened mouth, grazing it. “You needn’t make your face show in the pics.” I freed one of my arms from around his neck and quickly glanced back at the lock, turned back around and lightly petted the side of his cheek. “I don’t want you to get in any trouble, but make sure my face is showing ... Pretty please...,” I lowered my face close to his as I said ‘pretty please’ and continued to speak with my lips almost touching his cheek and close to his ear, “And show exactly what we’re doing. OK?”

He girthed around my slim waist with both hands and eased me off him a bit. “Like this!” He panicked. He knew if a word of this ever got out. if shit ever hit the fan, it would be a very nasty tailspin. His eyes were searching all over my face, trying to see if I was sure. He asked, “Half-naked? You serious?”

I was. As serious as a heart surgery on Obama.

“Yeah. Email me them.” I pampered my hand seductively down the chest of his white long sleeve shirt, rubbing with pressure, so I could feel the sexual raise of his huge erected nipple through his shirt.

“Ping me when you send them off boo.” My palm was pressing over the roundness of his nipple, I slithered my hand down his muscular chest and back up to his nipple, pinched it between my thumb and index finger, pinching and pulling it hard. Rolled it between my fingers and he licked his lips, licked them again, slowly, his teeth biting on the underside of his lower-lip. I clawed his nipple playfully with my manicured nails. His penis twitched upward.

His face changed; a hint of anger painted his eyes. He grabbed my hand, held it steady. “Mad woman, what if Qwan sees them?” He was looking in my eyes as if I were a person on some cheap, wholesale crack.

I became aware of where I was; anyone could walk in on us at any minute. Lord knows I wouldn’t want that. With no smile on my face, I answered him in a hushed tone, “Don't you worry about it, umm ... Nate. Your name is Nate right?” he bobbed his head agreeing and said, “Nathan.”

“OK. Don't worry Nathan, Qwan won’t find them ...” I saw a rush of relief filled him, the fright slowly disappearing from his eyes and somehow it seemed like his pupils changed, maybe it was the size of his pupils changing with his mood, growing bigger and fuller as he regained a calm in our bizarre situation. His face relaxed, about to smile. I finished my sentence, hardening my jaw as I gritted the words, “I’m going to show them to him.”

His eyes slammed wide open, the formation of his smile reversed, his mouth hung, fright flying back into his eyes. He flashed my hand down with a sharp thrust, it slapped into my lap. He held it there. I wrung my hand out his grip, asked, “What’s wrong? Eehm? You intimidated by Qwan?”

“N-no...No .. but .. bu-ut .. you righted?”

“If mi righted?” I looked away to the bathroom mirror in front of us. “Mi want it burn him.” The bitter hurt I felt from it all last night began to swell, bubble and explode in my chest. “It’s my damn revenge.”

Nathan and I snapped several very provocative photos. Despite him being fully clothed, wearing his tall sleeve white shirt, black pants and a superman blue tie, his erect penis was standing outside his zipper in some of the pictures, in some it was sticking in me, and in some I placed it in my mouth, posing for the camera. We didn’t have sex, we only posed.

I still wasn’t satisfied with just the pictures. It wasn’t a big enough get back. So torn by thoughts of last night, so hurt, I had sex with Nathan right there. Nathan’s body jolted with a four hundred volt of electricity when he orgasmed, spewing his cum out of control and creaming everywhere he didn't want to. Some even caught on the tail of my white gown.

We went a second round. I didn’t want to keep my panties on anymore; it was making me too hot and bothered. But if someone walked in, it would be a dead giveaway once I had my panties off. The tight elastic around the rim of the legs were squeezing me and I didn’t like the feel. He slid the crotches of my white panty to the side to get himself into my pink hole. I lifted my white gown, pushed both my thumbs down both sides of the thin elastic waist of my underwear, swiftly dragged it from underneath my long dress and it came off in a rolly twist from around my ankles as I stepped out of it, exposing my naked ass, clean skin, long legs.

I tossed my panty over the shower rod. It had a blue shower curtain with pictures of yellow rubber ducky all over. Hopefully I could get back in my undies fast enough if anyone should bust in on us. My skin was a smooth color of creamy Milo as I bent over and cocked up my ass to take his Godzilla size into me, doggystyled position, my love-hole jumped, wanting his warm length between me, now. My walls seeping wet with my goo. I peeped between my legs from my arched-back. Waiting on his stiffness to be forced through my fleshy hole. He hoggishly hoisted the tail of my dress over my petite round buttocks, the tail bunched scraggly on my back. Roughing up my gown as if he forgot that today is a very special day for me, my biggest day. A feint worry about my brother’s situation slid across my mind. It’s a big decision. A difficult one. I’ll just do what Mommy encouraged me to do, we already came this far with the plan, I can’t turn back now. Can I? After so many years?

I slapped my hand on to the rail of the white bath tub, fingers latched. I bent and peered at him from between my legs, my breasts bouncing from bending over. His cannon camera hung down by its black strap from his shoulder, swung awkwardly back and forth like his balls were swinging back and forth. The tiny split in the center of his fleshy pink penis-head was damp; he aimed it right at the opening of my vagina, my entire body anticipated his cock being worked into me so sweetly, so divine, parting my flesh, stroking in me. Deep. Sensually. Fucking me. He braced his hips forward, my shoulder blades squeezed itself together, I felt the tip of his swollen head pressed against my hole. It felt warm, smooth. Chills danced on the back of my neck. His entire penis jerked, it sprang up and down slightly after the jump, like an aftershock. I felt it and my hole throbbed, my spine tightened. The smooth warm head touched the tip of my private-lips, just barely touching them. My arm reached between my legs and grabbed hold of his stiffness. My small hand could not wrap completely around it, it was too thick, too fat. It felt like a ten pound giant sausage in my hand, as thick as a plaintain but black. It had a fat broad head. My body jittered. Gosh! I want to feel all of it inside me. My urges were taking over. I tried to take a grip of myself. I shouldn’t enjoy this so much, but .. but my body, it’s too aroused, ready, wanting, roaring.

I ran my fingers down his full length, the pad of my fingertips stroked over the smooth yet sharp zig-zags that his lightning veins forked from the root and sides all the way to the tip. The straight and long main vein running smoothly up the side, like a thick rope, it made the biggest bulge of all the veins. The softness of the thin skin that wrapped his penis will let me feel the swell of the veins for sure as it rub up and down in me, but with a smooth feel, a textured feel when my juices lather it. I couldn’t wait to have this juicy cock in me, feel it in me, feel it. A feeling ran through my body. Hot, excited, wanting. So wanting. My belly jerked quietly, like an hiccup of horniness, it nudged my heart rate, my heart speeding and I could feel each beat pounding against my breasts. I couldn’t control my body’s reaction. I wiped my thumb midway his cock, side to side. God! I wanted this. My pussy clasped itself shut and then released. I shouldn’t have another contraction till couple more seconds. But I was so horny my clit jumped again in seconds, one right after the other, pulling my clit inward. I bit my lip. Squeezed the middle of his flesh. Clit jumped again. What’s happening? And again. Jumped again. I squeezed my fingers around it, at the root, close to his balls, stroking it up and down, jerking him, jerking it, jerking his big fat cock. I felt it growing even stiffer in my hand, swelling thicker, solid, heavy. It rose higher, lifting my hand, horniness ravishing through its veins. He desperately wanted to push his cock into the sweetest place on earth. Inside me. He looked down at my arched back, pushed his hip forward, wanting to fuck me, fuck me till my titties fall off. I wanted to feel him inside.

I didn’t see his face, I heard his desperate moans, “Leee...Leee...” dragging his words and begging, “Let me push it inside, pleeeaase.”

My slender fingers held his cock firm, squeezed it, aimed it to the center of my slit, cringed my face to feel his entry, released his kong and left it standing stiff in the air behind me for him to delve into my wetness. He penetrated me slow. The swollen head pierced its way through. I uttered a silent, ‘Ouch!’

I, Spy by Jordan McCollum - Review

About the Book

Canada is probably the last place you'd expect to find an American spy. But even idyllic Ottawa has its deadly secrets—and so does CIA operative Talia Reynolds. She can climb through ventilation shafts, blend in at the occasional diplomatic function, even scale buildings (small ones). But there’s one thing she can’t do: tell her aerospace engineer boyfriend Danny about her Top Secret occupation. It worked for a year, keeping Danny in the dark, keeping him away from danger, keeping her secrets. And then Talia finally catches a hot case: Fyodor Timofeyev. Russian. Aerospace executive. Possible spy? She can make this work, too—until Danny needs her at the same time her country does. And when Fyodor targets Danny? Suddenly her schedule isn't the only thing suffering. Now to save her secrets and her country, Talia must sacrifice the man she loves. More about I, Spy | Add I, Spy to your Goodreads to-read list!

Advance praise

The edge-of-my-seat undercover operations kept me turning pages, and just when I thought the story would go one way, plot twists sent it down another path. Thrilling, adventurous, and romantic, this book has it all for an Alias fan.
Jami Gold, award-winning author
Jordan McCollum’s debut novel is a delightful combination of mystery, action, and romance. Talia’s CIA training and almost OCD caution feed her quirky humor while exposing her very human fears and insecurities. Add in her boyfriend Danny, and it's enough to twist your heart.
Donna K. Weaver, author of A Change of Plans
Clever, suspenseful, and charged with political intrigue and romance, I, Spy is the perfect combination for a fun and captivating read!
Michelle Davidson Argyle, author of Monarch

My Thoughts: I, Spy was fast paced and incredibly exciting! From the very first sentence I was drawn into the book. Talia was an awesome protagonist. She was witty and fun. Her funny little asides throughout the book made me smile. She was really tough, too. She was in some potentially dangerous situations, and she kept her cool.

The secondary characters in I, Spy were great. Elliot always seemed to have something funny to say. He was a joker, but very dedicated. Danny and Talia's relationship seemed to be on a crazy roller coaster that was following all the twists in the story. Fyodor was charming and evil, a perfect antagonist.

While I haven't read many books based in Canada, I felt like I could picture the places McCollum wrote about. Her descriptions were descriptive and had interesting facts.

I, Spy kept me guessing. I was on the edge of my seat during one particular river scene, just expecting the worst. For each question answered, there seemed to be a million more. I was doubting people and then wondering why I ever doubted them. Jordan McCollum wrote an intriguing mystery that offers readers a lot of enjoyment, twists, turns, and romance. I would suggest I, Spy to any lovers of mysteries with a little romance thrown in.

About the Book

Canada is probably the last place you'd expect to find an American spy. CIA operative Elliott Monteith has made it work, just like he's made things work with his longtime fiancée Shanna. Until Shanna lays out an ultimatum: move forward or move on. Meanwhile, Elliott and his best friend and fellow operative, Talia Reynolds, try to track an elusive leak at the American embassy. But something changes between Elliott and Talia as they close in on the man selling out his country. Professional and personal lines blur and Elliott has to choose—his fiancée or his best friend. Ripple by E.L. Farris - Review

Ripple

When high-powered attorney Helen Thompson discovers that her fifteen-year old daughter has been sexually assaulted, she takes drastic measures. Finding herself in trouble, Helen must relinquish control and put her faith in a process she knows to be flawed. As a team of lawyers, therapists and women from a safe house help Helen and Phoebe find hope and healing, a sociopath lurks, waiting for his moment to strike. A lyrical, dark fairytale that will resonate with fans of women's literature and psychological thrillers, RIPPLE delves into the nature of evil, without seeking to provide final answers to the issue of what makes a human commit evil acts. And while the author takes readers to scary places, she ultimately shines a light on the human condition and celebrates the triumph of the human spirit in the face of great tribulation.

My Thoughts: Ripple deals with some really tough issues. Even after reading the description of this book I was shocked by what had happened to Helen's daughter, Phoebe. I hurt for both Helen and for Phoebe. E.L Farris wrote characters that I could care about, and I had to find out what would happen to them in the end.

Helen was a very no-nonsense woman. Her career was a huge priority for her. When she learns what happened to Phoebe she starts to go through a major transformation. I liked her as a no-nonsense woman, so I am happy that she stayed that way, but the change in her priorities made her a better mother and I can imagine a better person. By the end of the book I had a lot of hope for her future.

I found Phoebe to be a strong character. Considering everything she was going through, she was still very strong. She had passion, could have an attitude in a snap, and she was rebellious. She showed a lot of growth through the book, thanks to all the amazing women that she was surrounded with, and thanks to finding her inner strength in a time of need.

I loved the other characters in the book. The women from the safe house were so great. I loved their banter and the love they had for the women they were helping. The other lawyers and the therapists were amazing, too. All of these people cared so much for Helen and Phoebe. The little back stories that filled the book helped to add so many dimensions to the book. The sociopath that lurks was terrifying. I was so afraid through the book that he would not be found or stopped. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

Farris wrote such a heartbreaking beginning and then took readers through a wild recovery process. There was so much suspense as the danger drew closer. I would suggest this book to any one who enjoys a good thriller and isn't afraid of tough issues. Ripple is well worth the read.

About Ex-lawyer E.L. Farris is a born-again, marathon-running married mother of three who resides in Northern Virginia. What else do you need to know about me? I talk a lot. I write a lot. I adore my husband. I adore my children. What else? Well, I run. I’ve been running since I turned 14. I started to run then and I’ve been running ever since. Whenever I stop running, I land in a lot of trouble. I ran through a childhood that could well be described as hell. I ran through major depressive episodes and often teetered one step from the edge of a breakdown. Through running, I held onto my sanity, my sobriety, my life and my belief in God. Each step I take, no matter how physically painful, draws me a shade closer into my better angels. And the steps have become painful over the years, which is how I earned the nickname Phoenix. Some mornings I feel like I’ve been run over by a bus and the truth is, I was. I survived a collision with a metro bus, and it’s fair to say that the accident messed me up. And yet I keep rising from the pyre of a burning fire and as I run I realize that as long as I hold the Holy Spirit inside me, my spirit will never die. Into the End, Through the Flames, and Out of the Ashes by Bonnie R. Paulson - Promo & Tour Schedule
