Forget Me Not by Belinda Boring - Review

Title: Forget Me Not
Author: Belinda Boring
Series: The Mystic Wolves Series Book Two
Publish Date: May 20, 2012

Synopsis:  Only a fool would think they could steal from a werewolf … Anticipating a quiet night alone with the man she loves, Darcy’s world is sent into a spin with the arrival of someone from the past—Mason’s. She is further shocked by the intruder’s claim she may not even be the true mate of the Mystic Wolves Alpha. Accusations start to fly, leading to her new enemy being granted asylum, and this is just the beginning of trouble. Relying on the reassurances of Mason and the support of her friends and Pack, Darcy soon falls under attack. Suspicions are raised, and with no other choice, she must flee with Devlin to safety where hopefully they can untangle the lies hidden behind the use of magic. Time is quickly ticking away, leading to a showdown where everything is on the line. They need to uncover the truth before it’s too late, or once again, Darcy will need to fight to hold onto her dreams.

My Thoughts: I read both Forget Me Not, and the first book in this series, The Mystic Wolves. I love paranormal romance so I was pretty excited to read these books. I suppose some people may think that werewolves and vampires have been overdone lately. I am not one of those people. I think that the amount of creativity it takes for the authors to continue to bring something original to the genre is amazing. Belinda Boring did a great job of creating the world for the Mystic Wolves and I am so happy that I have found it.

There are so many well defined characters in this book. Boring did not just focus on Darcy and Mason as the main characters. From Darcy's point of view we get to learn so much about her fellow pack mates Daniel, her vampire friend Devlin and his nephew Vlad, and we learn about our villain, Amber. I absolutely love Daniel's personality. He is so much fun, but he is also very loyal. I also enjoyed learning more about Devlin in this second book. I can't wait to learn more about him in the next book. Vlad's part in this book really made me laugh. I know I'm concentrating a lot on the secondary characters, but Darcy and Mason's stories are told just as beautifully. Their love story is so sweet and I had fun reading it.

The plot in Forget Me Not is really great. It is fast paced and keeps you guessing. I didn't want to put down this book even for a second. The glimpses we get of Devlin's home, the packs land, and the Council are all really great. Boring has a very descriptive writing style that I love. My only issue...What a cliff hanger!! I am going to be going crazy waiting for the third book in this series. Lets hope Belinda Boring writes fast!

Immortal Voyage by C.G. Powell - Review

Title: Immortal Voyage
Author: C.G. Powell
Publisher: Terra Stellar Press
Publish Date: June 9, 2012

Synopsis: Before the time of the great pyramids, there was a place like none other, a city of glass and metal rising from the depths of the ocean. Shrouded in mist, the island of Hy-Brasil and its capital Atlantis lay hidden from the rest of the world by its people, a race of long lived, interstellar nomads.

What secrets would you keep to save your kingdom? On the Queen’s deathbed, the sonless King Aldric is force into a promise to allow his five daughters to marry for love. A promise he wished he had never made, and one he will have to break to save the kingdom.

The youngest of five daughters, Jael, spent most of her time at her father’s side learning to run a kingdom. Believed to be the King’s favorite, Jael is shocked when he betroths her to a longtime friend of his, Prince Sarik of Hy-Brasil. Soon she will learn that world is full of secrets and one of them is her very own birth. Will the secret that bonds her to Sarik be the ultimate downfall of a kingdom?

My Thoughts: Immortal Voyage has a wonderful way of capturing a reader's attention and not letting go. I was so quickly immersed in the world that Powell created that I hated to see it end. The only thing I could have hoped for was for the story to be longer and a little more fleshed out.

The characters were very interesting. Jael was a strong leading character. I really enjoyed reading her journey as she learned the secrets of where she came from. I also enjoyed Sarik. He started off as a bit standoffish but he quickly grew on me as a character. I would have loved to learn more about them both. I also like the glimpses of Jael's sisters that we got. They were very interesting.

I loved the plot. It was twisted and had unexpected turns all over the place. I really liked reading this book. I almost felt like it was a great starting place to something so much bigger. Powell has an amazing story telling ability and I would love to see what she does with something bigger.

Free e-books on Amazon (7/3) and Other Things!

Wow have I been a slacker lately! I haven't posted any new reviews in a long time. It's not that I haven't been reading. I just don't seem to want to stop reading. All my spare time between my children and house is being spent on reading. I've caught up on some series that I wanted to get read, read quite a few requests, and re-read many amazing books. I got into one particular genre and I am trying to find my way back out. All this reading means that I've also been shirking on my In My Mailbox and Top Ten Tuesday posts.

So obviously there is a lot to look forward to on Reading It All. There will be so many reviews coming up. I have read several author requests and NetGalley books. I plan to get them all written out. I also have a few Author Interviews from some great authors that I'll be posting. There will be at least one signed book giveaway in the very near future as well. All of this along with the tours I am participating in. July should be a very busy month!

Since tomorrow is the 4th, I will be spending time with my family. Hopefully a cookout, and maybe watching some fireworks. So I am throwing together my Freebies together a day early. Hopefully no one minds. Next week Free e-books on Amazon will be back to it's regularly scheduled day of Wednesday.

I didn't grab too many because I already have so much reading to do. Hopefully one of these will catch your interest. Happy 4th of July!!!
